For the past several years, a friend and I have walked to Farmer's Market in La Grange. We chat with the farmers, we revel in the beauty of the bounty every week and we try to grace our tables with the offerings that we find. One of the things that I particularly enjoy is talking with the people who grow the food that I eat. There are no preservatives in either the food or the people: what you see is what you get. As the weeks and years go by, we become friends.
